Los Barrios Unidos Community Clinic wants to help protect you and your family against the flu.
The first and most important step in preventing the flu is to get a flu vaccine before flu activity is at its highest. Vaccination before December is best. However, as long as flu viruses are still spreading in the community, immunizations can protect you.
We understand that this year’s vaccine is not perfect. However, it will lessen flu symptoms and does offer protection.
We also recommend everyday actions that can prevent the flu, like staying away from people who are sick, covering your coughs and sneezes, and frequent hand-washing to help slow the spread of germs that cause respiratory (nose, throat, and lungs) illnesses, like flu.
Flu shots for adults are only $5 at Los Barrios Unidos Community Clinic, and are free for most children through the Texas Vaccines for Children program. You do not need an appointment. Please come in, get your flu shot, and protect yourself and your family.
